3rd International Congress of Sign Language Teachers
13th-15th October 2017 in Basel, Switzerland
Dear Sign Language Teachers and Dear Sign Language Community
It is our great pleasure to invite you to our LESICO, the 3rd International Congress of Sign Language Teachers. At the Congress in Paris, we were able to run the professional association of German-speaking Switzerland BGA and western Switzerland ASRLS, and we were unanimously nominated to take over the next congress organization. Then we are very pleased.
The Swiss professional organizations are involved in the process of professional recognition by the SBFI in Switzerland (State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation). In addition, the construction of an international network is one of our major objectives. The focus of LESICO lies on the professional exchange of Sign Language Teachers. We as a signing community strive for the goal that the sign language will be recognized as an official language in all countries. A high degree of professionalism is therefore required. For this reason, for the LESICO Congress we have chosen as the motto “professionalism and quality of sign language teachers”.
The program consists of lectures, workshops and poster presentations. We are convinced that you expand in this congress your knowledge and thorough understanding of the profession of Sign Language Teachers can. Moreover, this convention offers an excellent opportunity for professional and social networking in a truly international and multidisciplinary context.
The Congress will be from 13 to 15 October 2017 held in Switzerland, in beautiful Basel.
LESICO also embodies the unique cooperation between the various Sign Language and Sign Language Teachers associations in Europe and worldwide. A day before of the LESICO, here will take place a meeting of ENSLT on Thursday 12 October.
We are very pleased to welcome you in October 2017 in Basel!
